５月ニュースレターへようこそ！
５月は、気候もよくいい月ですね。１５日以降、気温も上がってきて、２５度が平均となっています。バーベキューやアウトドアのアクティビティも楽しめるようになってきました。夏のフェスティバルもすぐ始まりますね。

Tiffany Candlish がレベル1の先生としてスタートしました。
今月は、アウトドアーアクティビティをたくさん楽しみました。
ベーグルツアーで５月はスタートでしす。モントリオールで一番古く有名なベーグルショップSaint Fairmount Bagelにいきました。このお店は１９１９年から経営されており、Mile Endと呼ばれるとても良いロケーションにあります。.
土曜日は、小雨の中、オタワのチューリップフェスティバルにいきました。世界的に有名なフェスティバルで、５０万人もの人がさまざまなチューリップをみに訪れます。
その翌週は、トロント・ナイアガラフォールズへいきました。天気もとてもよく、とてもいいアクティビティとなりました。
そして、その翌週は、Cirque du Soleil のTotem を見に行きました。Cirque du Soleil はモントリオールのサーカス団体ですが、普通のサーカスではなく、とても芸術的なパフォーマンスをします。この夏中に、必ず見てくださいね！
最後は、Montreal’s museum dayにいきました。モントリオール市内のすべてのmuseumは無料です。公共交通機関（バス、メトロ）もこの日は無料です。

What is happening in June in Montreal?
６月は、モントリオールのフェスティバルシーズンの始まりです。Beer festivalで涼しくスタート? その後は。international Feux Loto-Quebec (a firework festival)やフランス、ケベックの歌手によって催されるFrancofolies music festival (www.francofolies.com) which presents a lot などがあります。そして、最も大事なInternational jazz festival (www.montrealjazzfest.com) 31st editionも見逃せません。６月２４日は、Saint-Jean-Baptisteというケベックの休日です。 その日はPark Lafontaine での花火や有名なQuebec artistsによるshowcasing を楽しめます。

By the way, Montreal, for three and a half months of the year (summer), is the best city in the world. I love teaching at GEOS, which I've been doing for almost two years now. These two years have honestly been the best of my life for many reasons, but a big part of what makes me happy are the wonderful students that I have. They teach me funny, interesting, shocking, and unbelievable things on a daily basis. I just try to do my best and return the favour every time I'm in class. In addition to teaching, I also do acting, writing, and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu (which I don't suggest you google). After all that, and taking care of my angelic little daughter Miya, I don't have much free time, but I have been known to spend it looking up facts on Wikipedia so that I can win games of Trivial Pursuit. Did you know that Ghengis Khan is the direct ancestor of 0.5% of the world's male population today? Well, you do now!"

« Je suis arrivée à GEOS en janvier et je ne parlais rien de français. Pendant les 4 mois ici, j’ai beaucoup appris la langue française. Je suis très heureuse d’avoir choisi GEOS. Aujourd’hui je parle bien et je n’ai pas de difficulté pour parler avec les personnes que j’ai connu à Montréal. Je peux aller au magasin et demander ce que je veux sans avoir peur de faire des fautes. Mes professeurs m’ont beaucoup aidé et contribué à mon apprentissage. Il me reste deux mois à l’école et je suis sûre que je vais encore progresser pendant cette période. Merci à l’équipe GEOS. »

24 semaines, Programme à temps plein de Français
次回の英語、フランス語・ビギナーイブニングクラスは、６月14日の週にスタートします。フランス語・ビギナーイブニングクラスは、６月１４日、７月１２日、８月９日、９月７日、１０月４日、１１月１日の週にスタートします。
日本語ビギナーイブニングクラスは、７月19日の週にスタートします。２０１０年の日本語ビギナーイブニングクラスは、５月１０日、７月１９日、９月１３日、１１月２２日の週にスタートします。
現在当校では、3つのElective courseを設けております。TOEFL、 IELTS テスト対策コースとBusiness English コースです。更に、TOEICコースも3月8日の週からBusiness English コースの代わり開催します。
また、フレンチコースでは、Elective Course として“communication francaise”があります。

パリのエッフェルタワーのように、モントリオールにきたら見逃せない場所、それは、Mount Royal です。山頂からの眺めは一度は見てみたいものです。
Mount Royal Park は１８７６年、ビクトリアデイに正式に開かれました。ここは、モントリオールで最も大きい緑のスペースで、有名な場所です。この公園は、New York’s Central Park をデザインしたFrederick Law Olmsted によってデザインされました。モントリオールの人たちにとって、Mount Royal は「山」以上のものです。Mount Royal は、また “Tam Jam”の場所としてたくさんの人が訪れます。
