７月ニュースレターへようこそ！
今月は、夏の半ばあり、また天候にも恵まれ、Rodgers cupのようなさまざまなイベントが始まった月でもあります。夏のモントリオールでのアクティビティーは、忘れられない思い出となります。
GEOS Montrealも夏の盛り上がりに兼ねて、どんどんと生徒数も増え、メインフロアーの１１階のほかに、他の階も使用しております。

Yuly Gonzalez は、GEOS Montrealの先生として数週教員をした後に、新しいAcademic Coordinatorになりました。GEOS Montreal language academy’ familyになる前は。彼女のホームタウンでもあるColombianのBogotaで英語の教師としてフルタイムで活躍していました。
フリータイムがあるときは、サルサダンスをしたりカラオケをしたりします。
GEOS Montrealは、７月は色々なイベントがありました。新しいスタッフのYuly Gonzalezを初めとし、新しく３人の先生も仲間入りをしました。
また、Charles Muratもスタッフの一員になり、マーケティングやアクティビティの担当をしています。

Charles の自己紹介です:
“Hi, my name is Charles Murat and I'm an intern at GEOS Montreal. I was born in France and moved to Canada when I was 10 years old.
While I always say that I'm half Canadian, half French, the truth is that my roots are French but my heart belongs in Quebec.
I must also say that I am very glad to have been given the opportunity to work for GEOS, in Montreal, where I can exercise the expertise that I've accumulated as a HEC Montreal university student.
I understand that some GEOS Montreal's students would eventually like to continue their studies in Montreal. Therefore, as I am well aware of university standards, just let me know if you have any questions, concerns or if you simply want to share your thoughts on the university educational system in Montreal.
While one of my main tasks is to help the staff with some marketing projects, I also take a lot of pleasure in helping them with students’ activities. My main characteristics as an individual are that I'm always intrigued by things, I rarely say no to an invitation, and I'm willing to try every single sport there is.
I tend to believe that learning a language in a foreign country (I’ve been to a similar language school in the past) takes a great deal of courage and dedication. Nevertheless, as it did for me, this experience will definitely help you as a student and more importantly as an individual.

Je ne regrette pas d’avoir choisi GEOS comme école puisque j'ai appris beaucoup et vraiment tous les gens là-bas sont très professionnels et gentils. Aussi, heureusement, j'ai eu l’opportunité d’être resté avec une famille d'accueil. Je me suis sentie comme chez moi! 18 semaines, Programme intensif de Français.
日本語ビギナーイブニングクラスは、９月１３日の週にスタートします。２０１０年の日本語ビギナーイブニングクラスは、９月１３日、１１月２２日の週にスタートします。
現在当校では、3つのElective courseを設けております。TOEFL、 IELTS テスト対策コースとBusiness English コースです。更に、TOEICコースも3月8日の週からBusiness English コースの代わり開催します。
また、フレンチコースでは、Elective Course として“communication francaise”があります。

また、1週間にわたるWorking Skillセッションも3月8日からスタートし、月曜日から金曜日の午後4時から6時まで行われます。このセッションは、現地での仕事をする際に必要なさまざまなスキルを身につけることができます。
また、スタディツアー・ホリデーグループコースもあり、個々の生徒様でも1－2週間参加していただくことができます。
グループで参加していただくことも可能です。当校のwebsite からStudent Tour Analysis Formを記入してください。ご希望にそった、コース、宿泊、アクティビティを提案させていただきます。

“International des feux de montreal”は、モントリオールの夏のすばらしいイベントです。150 000 ほどの花火が the Jacques-Cartier Bridgeでみられます。一番最初は、1985 に La Ronde (ケベックで有名な遊園地) で行われ、それ以来、楽しまれています。
７月のアクティビティには、たくさんの生徒さんが参加されました。最初の金曜日は、ハイキング好きのためのMount Royal でのハイキングをし、有名な Beaver Lake や美しいモントリオールしを山頂から眺めることができました。
２週目は、スモークサンドウィッチで有名な、 Schwartz’s restaurantにいき、おいしいサンドウィッチを楽しんできました。２５名以上の生徒さんが参加をし、とても楽しいアクティビティーとなりました。
その翌週の金曜日は、室内アイススケートに行きました。最初は、ドキドキしながら滑っていた生徒さんも、最後のほうにはカナダのアクティビティでアイススケートを楽しんでいましたよ。４週目のアクティビティーは、ボタニカル・ガーデンにいき、有名なガーデンをみにいきました。すばらしい日本庭や、サウスアフリカの美しい花など、さまざまな美しいものをみることができました。また、最後の週は、カヤックのアクティビティをしました。２０名の生徒が参加し、わくわく・どきどきしながら、canal Lachine の冷たい水の上でのカヤッキングを楽しみました。アクティビティーカレンダーは下記のリンクからみていただけます。

What is happening in August in Montreal?
８月は、たくさん屋外でのアクティビティがあります。“International des feux Loto-Quebec”での花火大会を是非みにいってください。 (http://www.internationaldesfeuxloto-quebec.com/fr/ )
The Rogers cupではモントリオールのテニストーナメントを楽しむことが出来ます。今年は、世界からの女性テニスプレイヤーが８月１３日から２２日かけ、トーナメントを行いないます。 (http://www.rogerscup.com/)
また、Green day (21st) and Rihanna (7th), などのたくさんのコンサートもあり、これらは、ダウンタウンのBell Centre (http://www.centrebell.ca/ ) で行われます。
