4月ニュースレターへようこそ！
４月は２３度と暖かい気候でスタートし、春の訪れを感じるいい月でした。 ところが月末の週は少し寒くなり、雪まで降りましたね！
それでも、モントリオールの人は冬には戻らない！ピクニックや公園での散歩など外でのあくティビィティを楽しみました。

モントリオールの公共自転車システムＢＩＸＩもスタートし、今年で２年目となります。４月１９日から使用できます。詳細は下記のサイトからご覧ください。

Ian Ortiは、当校の一番有名な先生でもああり、またL (and things come apart)の筆者でもあります。今回は、彼は、The Olive and the Dawn (Snare books).の筆者でもあり、今回は彼の２冊目の本となります。
L (and things come apart)のexcerptです。
“A small flat sits unoccupied above Henry’s café. When a woman comes to rent the room, Henry’s world begins an unusual transformation. As they grow closer the city itself is affected, changed, and slowly dismantled. Unsure if he is a victim of his own senility, the chaos inches closer and Henry suspects it may have something to do with the woman upstairs and the stranger she is hiding from.”
４月は、Dollar cinema で映画のアクティビティでスタートしました。
コメディ映画のOlddogs （John Travolta and Robin Williams）を見に行きました。映画は２ドル、そのほかのスナックは１ドルと格安の映画館です。
翌週は、モントリオールで有名な「poutine 」（フライドポテトとグレイビーソース）を食べにLa Banquiseにいきました。モントリオールにきたら一度は食べたい一品です。その後、ビリヤードをしにいき、いっぱいになったお腹も少し落ち着きました！
最後の週は、ボーリングに行きました。みんなでするには、もってこいのスポーツですね。楽しかった！

What is happening in May in Montreal?
モントリオールのカルチャーライフをディスカバーしたい方にはもってこいのさまざまなイベントがあります。
５月２７日から６月２１日は、Festival Transameriqueが行われ、25のダンス、パフォーマンス、劇などがみれます。
５月の３０日は、Montreal Museum Dayで、すべてのMuseumが無料で入館できます。また、この日は、公共交通機関（メトロ、バス）も無料となります。
GEOS Montreal の新しいスタッフの紹介です。
エジプトから来た、Kareemは、Concordia Universityで勉強したのち、GEOS Montrealでは欠かせないスタッフの一員として活躍しています。彼の自己紹介です。
"When I was little it was never in my plans to live away from my home country, Egypt, especially here in Canada with its lovely winter, but as usual I changed my mind haha. All of a sudden in my first year of university thoughts of living abroad were just jumping in my head everyday. So I decided to do it and I transferred from the American University in Cairo to Concordia University in 2006, don’t ask me why but I wanted to try out new aspects of life, and I guess this was one of the most successful decisions in my life. In January 2010 I finished my bachelor’s degree in Marketing. And now I am an admin assistant here at GEOS Montreal and the Arabic representative of the Academy. Well that’s not all the story with me and GEOS. I have been a French student here since March 2008, but due to my “studies”, as if I was killing myself in studying, I was not able to continuously stay since that time. I took courses every summer which helped me tremendously in developing not only my French knowledge but in learning different cultures, thanks to GEOS now I have friends from all over the world, and I believe that’s the best experience anyone can get. So as a student and a staff member I really encourage you to take advantage of your stay at GEOS Montreal and get the best out of it. And if you ever need assistance with anything I would be very glad to help. Enjoy the GEOS experience."

 "Je m’appelle Ana, je suis Colombienne, Je suis arrivée à Montréal il y a 7mois, j’aime Montréal, cette une ville multiculturelle et magique. J’ai aimé l’hiver à Montréal à cause de toutes les activités à faire, je me suis amusée. Geos pour moi est une bonne école. Je ne pouvais pas dire un mot en Français, je ne connaissais presque personne, et maintenant je parle avec tout le monde. La méthodologie est vraiment bonne. J’ai appris beaucoup avec toute le monde, parce que touts les étudiants, le staff et les professeurs sont très sympathiques. Cours de Francais à temps plein, 30 semaines
次回の英語、フランス語・ビギナーイブニングクラスは、５月17日の週にスタートします。フランス語・ビギナーイブニングクラスは、５月１７日、７月１２日、８月９日、９月７日、１０月４日、１１月１日の週にスタートします。
日本語ビギナーイブニングクラスは、5月10日の週にスタートします。２０１０年の日本語ビギナーイブニングクラスは、５月１０日、７月１９日、９月１３日、１１月２２日の週にスタートします。
現在当校では、3つのElective courseを設けております。TOEFL、 IELTS テスト対策コースとBusiness English コースです。更に、TOEICコースも3月8日の週からBusiness English コースの代わり開催します。
また、フレンチコースでは、Elective Course として“communication francaise”があります。

世界で77％のメープルシロップはここ、ケベックで作られています。 ３月、４月には、"sugar shacks" (Maple Syrup production facilities) のが春のアクティビティで有名で、メープルの木からシロップをとって食べることができます。メープルシロップは、お菓子作りや、デザート、またビールにいれて楽しんでいただけます。ぜひ試してください！
