We had an amazing month of October with warm temperatures. It was such a pleasure to go hiking in the region of Quebec to admire the yellow and red leaves. All the landscapes were breathtaking. We can say that we really had: 'An Indian Summer". For the Thanksgiving weekend (mid-October), we even got some temperatures around 25C. November will probably be way cooler with probably our first snow fall.

One of our English teachers, Ian, who has been working with us for a long time, decided to hit the road, cross the Atlantic and go to Europe. We will miss him a lot and we definitely wish him good luck with his new life!
Our Marketing Coordinator, Ms Audrey Malgras-Serra got promoted and will work at the head office in Frankfurt, Germany, where she will promote all our schools to our French clientele. She is very excited about it!
Please find below an introduction of our new admin assistant:
Yuri Okamoto, who has replaced Rustem, is our new admin assistant and helps us with the students and with our administration. Let me explain to you her background and her plans.
She was born in Tokyo, Japan. She came to Canada when she was 16 and went to high school in BC, near Vancouver for 2 years. When she graduated, she came to Montreal because she wanted to study at Mc Gill and learn more about the French culture and language.
She is now doing her bachelor degree in Economics, and a Minor International Development Studies. She is also working part-time at GEOS Montreal to be exposed to an international environment, which could help her in her studies. After her bachelor degree, she will probably do a Master Degree in Finance and find a job either in Montreal or in Tokyo, wherever the job opportunities will be best.
She likes to have fun, hang out with friends and eat good food. She is always looking to meet people from other nationalities and will be pleased to meet our students.

About Montreal, What can I say? It is considered a multicultural city not only because it is bilingual, but also because you can meet people from all over the world and learn over their culture and costumes as well. The city catches your eye with its landscapes, natural beauties and festivals provided by the government.
Before coming to Montreal to improve my english skills I was afraid for many reasons, but now I have no doubts I made the right decision and I can give you my word that you will never regret for having chosen this great place to learn either english and french.

Even if we did pass September 21st, Fall hasn't really arrived yet. The students were lucky to be able to enjoy the festival of colours happening everywhere in Quebec, under the sun and warm weather. Therefore, many students went upnorth in the Laurentides region to visit some typical little towns and to hike up the famous Mont-Tremblant.
Also, some of the students discovered Juliette et Chocolat. This little café offers different beverages, sweets, salads, pancakes, etc. all made with one important element: Chocolate. Chocolate addicts or simple chocolate lovers, they all enjoyed this sweet experience.
Hockey season has started and Montrealers are getting excited. As we couldn't get tickets at the stadium (sold out), the second best place to watch the hockey game is at Cage aux Sports, a sports restaurant where you can find the same atmosphere as if you were watching it live! No trip to Montreal is complete without a Hockey night!
Finally, the students participated the school's Halloween Party. Halloween in Montreal and in the whole province of Quebec is still very popular. Mummy wrapping contest, pumpkins contest, costumes, candies…everything for the students to appreciate this fun event!

What is happening in November in Montreal?
Do not miss the 34th Edition of the Salon du livre, starting on November 16th to the 21st at Place Bonaventure.
Also the festival "M for Montreal" starts on November 16th to the 19th. The festival's mission is to support Montreal's finest talent by showcasing export-ready artists to international music professionals and tastemakers.
Also, students studying French shouldn't miss Cinemania, the French Film festival of Montreal happening from November 3rd to 13th.
Finally, November 19th is a date to remember as it is Santa Claus Parade on Ste-Catherine Street.
