GEOS Location and facilities
Montreal, Canada’s second-largest city, is found on an island in the St. Lawrence River, in the province of Quebec, in the eastern part of Canada. The city is conveniently located 190 km from Ottawa, the federal capital, 275 km from Quebec City, the provincial capital, 407 km from Boston, 550 km from Toronto, Canada’s largest city, and 625 km from New York.
GEOS Montreal is located in a modern building in downtown Montreal, on the corner of Sherbrooke and Crescent Street. This area of Sherbrooke Street is called “The Golden Mile”, rich in historical buildings and upscale residences. GEOS Montreal’s immediate neighbors include the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Ritz Carlton Hotel, and the famous Holt Renfrew Department Store. Crescent Street is one of Montreal’s main tourist attractions, filled with bars, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. The street is often closed for festivals and events such as the Formula 1 Weekend.

![]() For me, it has been a unique opportunity to meet new people, but more than this, to feel the atmosphere and the cultural diversity. I am staying with a host family and it has been a pleasure for me to be in touch with a Canadian family. every day, it has been a new adventure. I and my friends enjoy walking around the city to "discover" monuments, museums, art galleries, and so on. We have coffee at the cafeteria to try the typical food from Canada. We are really having a good time here and for sure we will have very good things to tell our families in Brazil. For sure we will miss Canada a lot. Debra and Rossana Brazil |
