Intensive French Program (31 lessons/week)
  NEWS! - Our next beginner French courses for both the daytime and evening start on November 3rd. After that it's January 5th, 2009.
GEOS Montreal offers an intensive French program for those students wishing to study French even more seriously. During the morning and the afternoon the students will joint the full time CEP or CFP program and after 16:00 they will join an elective course available at that time, such as TOEFL preparation program, writing, pronunciation or others.
INTEGRATED SKILLS CLASS (AM) During the morning session, students study four French skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening - through a “Communicative Language Teaching” methodology. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or a real-life situation. Students also use various activities to practice French conversation including listening tasks, role plays, and discussions. Practical reading and writing tasks and vocabulary studies are presented as well in our 6 available levels. Students can begin on any Monday.
ACTIVE LISTENING CLASS (PM) During the afternoon session, students will cover a variety of topics while practicing French conversation management, North American conversational styles, and pronunciation. Students learn commonly-used idioms and slang in a communicative way. Teachers also use various activities to practice these new idioms including listening tasks, role play, and discussion.

  Hello, my name is Tina. I am 24 years old and I am from Germany. I stayed in Montreal for four weeks in a host family. I studied english. GEOS choose a very nice host family for me. So I could practice my english which I have learned at school everyday. The GEOS team was great and warm. Whenever I have problems, I can ask them and they will help me. I feel I am welcomed. The teachers used different kinds of teaching methods, like listening, conversation, presentation, work in teams, movies and others. Therefore, the learning result is very good. GEOS had also a big offer on activities after school everyday in the week and especially on Friday. I had the chance to get to know Montréal with a big group of students. I was also on a daytrip to Ottawa. It was a well organized trip. I got to know the capital city of Canada. It was a very good day. I had a great time in Montréal. I had the chance to meet people from different countries and different cultures. I made a lot of new friends. I will never forget this time. Tina Germany |
