CELDT Description

The Concordia English Language Diagnostic Test (CELDT) is an ESL test which measures your English language proficiency. The test consists of two parts. Part I of the test is comprised of 100 multiple choice questions covering grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. Part II of the test is to complete a writing task explaining and supporting your own view on a given topic. You have 75 minutes to complete each part.  There is no speaking / listening test.

Students can use our TOEFL or IELTS test preparation courses to prepare for this test.

GEOS Language Academy, Montreal, is a Concordia University-approved test preparation centre and if you have already written CELDT and failed, you can take 40 hours of the morning or afternoon class at GEOS which will allow you to write the test again more quickly.

Students may be required to take the Michigan Placement Test and/or pass an speaking / listening test before entereing the GEOS TOEFL or IELTS classes.  All level testing at GEOS is free of charge.
