Description of Activities
Don't miss this once-a-year activity as the Botanical Gardens are filled with the magic of the lanterns.
They say that being good at pool is a sign of a mis-spent youth. Don't believe them - come out and let your inner-shark shine.
Explore Montreal's Arabic culture with the sweet taste of the Chicha.
As the leaves change, the Mountain is on fire with colour. Just minutes from the school, and designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, the man who desgined Central Park in New York, Mount Royal is a great place to visit in all seasons, but it may be at its most beautiful in Autumn. Check out GEOS from the top of the mountain and with a strong pair of binoculars and look right into your classrooms. Remember to bring some nuts to feed the squirrels.
Activity 5: Halloween Rumble
As the spirits come out for Halloween, make sure to make your first stop our annual ghost-fest. Everyone in the school will be dressed to kill, so don't miss our pumpkin-carving contest, scary activities, and haunted hallways.
As the summer slowly disappears, your chances of checking out one of Montreal's coolest weekend activities are disappearing. Every Sunday, thousands of people gather in the park to drum, dance, relax, and play soccer. Montrealers love the sport of people-watching and this is a great chance to check out all kinds of people.
Start the week off right with a relaxing evening movie in the comfortable confines of the school. Briefly forget the week ahead of hard work in your English and French classes, but learn at the same time. Popcorn will be served, and don't forget to call your Host Family to let them know you'll be late! We also take requests, so pass in a movie you want to see and we will deliver it for your viewing pleasure.
Our TESL class hosts a weekly coffee hour where both students who Study English and French can enjoy some free coffee, free cookies, and free conversation. Well, maybe the 'free' part isn't quite right - you do have to talk. You can come to chat about living in Montreal, your French and English classes, or anything else you might have in mind. Really, free coffee - who would say 'no' to that?

![]() There is so many things to say…What should I start with? First of all, Montreal is a great city you should visit. I was personally impressed by the diversity here. While you walk along the streets, it is very common to meet people from all over the world. GEOS reflects the same multiculturalism. I came in this school to improve my English, and in addition of that I’ve made friends I wouldn’t met otherwise! The teachers and the staff are great as well. They always push you to give the best of yourself. I can really talk about the dynamics in the classes. If you think that you will find something totally annoying where the teacher is talking and the students are listening (or are sleeping I should say ) you’re completely wrong! Classes are amazing and there is a wonderful interaction between everybody. Coming to class and improving a new language has never been such a pleasure for me. I warmly encourage you to try this experience. You won’t be disappointed. Maylis Yangni-Angaté Côte d'Ivoire |
