Description of Activities
Don't miss this once-a-year activity as the Botanical Gardens are filled with the magic of the lanterns.
The Plateau is Montreal's coolest neighborhood, and as the evenings turn a bit cooler, a bite or cup of chocolate is the perfect relaxation after a week or hard work in your classes.
Experience the charm of Old Montreal with your classmates and teachers without the mad crowds of summer. Stroll along the cobblestoned streets, and breathe in the history.
As the leaves change, the Mountain is on fire with colour. Just minutes from the school, and designed by the same person who desgined Central Park in New York, Mount Royal is a great place to visit in all seasons, but it may be at its most beautiful in Autumn. Check out GEOS from the top of the mountain and with a strong pair of binoculars, look right into your classrooms. Remember to bring some nuts to feed the squirrels.
As the summer slowly disappears, your chances of checking out one of Montreal's coolest weekend activities are disappearing. Every Sunday, thousands of people gather in the park to drum, dance, relax, and play soccer. Montrealers love the sport of people-watching and this is a great chance to check out all kinds of people.
Start the week off right with a relaxing evening movie in the comfortable confines of the school. Briefly forget the week ahead of hard work in your English and French classes, but learn at the same time. Popcorn will be served, and don't forget to call your Host Family to let them know you'll be late!
Our TESL class hosts a weekly coffee hour where both students who Study English and French can enjoy some free coffee, free cookies, and free conversation. Well, maybe the 'free' part isn't quite right - you do have to talk. You can come to chat about living in Montreal, your French and English classes, or anything else you might have in mind. Really, free coffee - who would say 'no' to that?

![]() For me, it has been a unique opportunity to meet new people, but more than this, to feel the atmosphere and the cultural diversity. I am staying with a host family and it has been a pleasure for me to be in touch with a Canadian family. every day, it has been a new adventure. I and my friends enjoy walking around the city to "discover" monuments, museums, art galleries, and so on. We have coffee at the cafeteria to try the typical food from Canada. We are really having a good time here and for sure we will have very good things to tell our families in Brazil. For sure we will miss Canada a lot. Debra and Rossana Brazil |
