Description of Activities
Celebrate this country’s 141st birthday at the capital and enjoy the parades and festivities that will be happening all day! The GEOS crew will arrive in Ottawa and start things off with a tour of Parliament Hill. All kinds of great things will be happening, including concerts, fireworks, picnics, street performances, and other activities.
We will be enjoying the summer sun and breeze by visiting Montreal’s prime summer spot. The hike will start from the south side of the mountain and we will slowly work our way to the summit, possibly catching the sunset from the lookout and catch a glimpse of Montreal’s downtown and beyond.
Montreal’s summer is full to the brim with festivals and excitement, and the Just for Laughs Festival is a great example of why July is a great time to be out and about in this city! There will be plenty of comedy shows to enjoy in the coming weeks, and GEOS will be taking an outing to a downtown venue to end the week with a good laugh!
Many weekend trips are available through GEOS Montreal and its partners; just ask about the packages available at the school! On July 12th, we will be taking a trip to Montmorency Falls and Quebec City, including a walking tour of the city to take in the sights for its 400th anniversary!
We will be celebrating the end of the session at one of the school’s surrounding cafés for the GEOS Happy Hour. A great chance to meet locals and other international students alike, it’s an event that all students and staff look forward to! Kick back, chit-chat, and don’t forget to look good!
Join GEOS students on the soccer field and play it out, meet new people, get some exercise and fresh air, and enjoy the summer with us! A great way to work off the stress and inhibitions of the week, the school and its students have been organizing soccer matches throughout the summer months and have seen some great talent pass through this city! Take this chance to join FC GEOS and show us what you’ve got!
One of the most popular and unique experiences you will encounter in Montreal in the summer. Along with the foam army, the Tam-Tams draw crowds from all corners of the city and fill Mont-Royal with awe-inspiring life and energy. Every Sunday, we will take a break from it all and go with the flow around the Angel Statue in Mont-Royal Park.
GEOS will be continuing the tradition this month with great movies every Monday. This month we will be viewing some timeless classics, including features in the Indiana Jones series, a Batman movie, and Lupin III: the Castle of Cagliostro. Enjoy them free, with free popcorn and snacks, starting at 5:30pm Mondays!

![]() My name is Carla, I'm 25 year old, I'm Brazilian and I arrived in Montreal in February of 2009. I went to GEOS to study English from February to September and then do to my internship in marketing. GEOS got me an interview in June, I liked the company and then I started my part time internship at Nota Bene Gifts in August for 4 months. Nota Bene Gifts is a small greeting card company which uses paper from Nepal, Himalayas to do their high quality designer cards. In January of 2010. I got my work permit and I started to work part time for this company because I was studying French at GEOS at the same time. I've been working for them since January and nowadays I work directly with my clients, providing everything that they need and we are always looking for new challenges to make the company bigger.
